Alas, few will probably read my response to your unsolvable problem.  After my Apple IIC, I converted to Windows, and have been at that place ever since - non that I loved it, but my killer program , Quicken, and its investment history only works on Windows - converting to MAC loses all investment history - plenty of a reason not to change.

Bought my married woman a MacBookPro for Christmas because she wanted a 2nd i - was impressed that the MBP transferred ALL of its files (including programs) from her quondam Apple Mac to her new with only one click - merely I was all the same a PCMan.

After much research, I replaced my WXP version with a new Dell - pretty prissy hardware - software stinks.  After ownership Belkin Like shooting fish in a barrel Transfer Cable, establish out MS wrote this out of their plan.  At present am faced with a byte-by-byte copy/paste of 8 GB of contact, email and physician information - or I tin transfer it to SkyCloud, and effigy out where each slice demand to land from in that location - just like, "I shot an arrow into the air, it vicious to globe I know not where".  I don't plan to subject myself to this.  I would suggest y'all other wonks waist deep in finding a technical solution call back about this also.  There are easier ways to alive, and I've discovered that MSFT ain't information technology.

With all due respect, you practiced folk at MSFT areeither too into the political tea leaves, or else have your heads way upward your arses.  Demand to stoptrying to convince your customers that they are better off when they are miserable. Try spending the adjacent 3 days transferring years of files and tell me how happy you are.Methinks your company has passed over the top, but as happens so many times, few at MSFT yet realize this.

Hullo Terry,

We repent for the delay in responding.

Windows Easy Transfer can't transfer files from a 64-fleck version of Windows to a 32-bit version of Windows. For instance, if you're transferring from a 64-flake version of Windows Vista to a 32-bit version of Windows 7, you can movement your files manually.

In this example, you lot are unable to copy the  C://document and settings/all users/application information/Norton binder. This may be due to the permissions set to that binder which does non permit you change the contents of that folder.

I would suggest you lot to manually copy the data from you lot Documents, Pictures, Videos or any other data that you lot demand from those locations to your external hard bulldoze and transfer it to the Windows 8 computer.
